From childcare, to the service industry, and home hospice care for my father, my life has always revolved around caring for others. While I had originally intended to go into the health industry, massage therapy was not on my radar until I began working as a receptionist at a massage clinic. I was amazed to see the physical, mental, and emotional change clients experienced through their bodywork sessions. Massage therapy has since become an invaluable, healing tool that I am blessed to be able to share with my local community.
Touch can mean many different things to each of us. I tend not to believe in the phrase "no pain, no gain" as I feel it can often do more harm than good. My goal in a session is to provide intuitive care through gentle healing and open communication with my client.
I completed a 650 hour professional licensing program through Port Townsend School of Massage. I am trained in Swedish, deep tissue, clinical treatment and prenatal massage with a special interest in the latter two.

The name Cygnus is inspired entirely by my Dad who passed in 2018. While I did not realize it at the time I began persuing massage therapy as a career, my Dad is one of the main reasons I sought out such a healing profession. He survived a cancer diagnosis in his early 20s, but unfortunately experienced a myriad of illnesses in his mid-later years which caused him a great deal of pain. Being able to help care for him is what made me realize how much comfort and relief a gentle touch can truly mean to someone who is in pain. Cygnus, on its own, has two different meanings. It is Latin for swan and it is a constellation. To me, it means so much more...My Dad's nickname for me was Swan and spending time staring at constellations was something the two of us always did together. I wanted a name that would be a small tribute to my Dad but also serves as a reminder of my reason why I started this career: to provide intuitive care and healing through gentle touch.
